Movement Therapy 1-on-1 Sessions

Are you okay with 80% of your mobility or 100%? Wouldn’t you want to have more confidence in your movement’s ability?

Are you tired of recurring pain even after multiple therapies?

Do you want to improve your balance and feel more agile in your body?

Recognize that there a million reasons for YOUR low back pain. Working one on one with me gives us a chance to individualize drills and exercises that your brain needs so you can move without pain and with better mobility.

I am a neuro-based movement specialist and I have built my career around Chinese Medicine nutrition, movement and self-care.

Working Together…

Through movement re-education, lifestyle coaching and accountability support, we can work towards a pain-free, mobile and strong body to call your own!

WHAT I tell my moM…

I want to learn how your brain works and what we can do to create change.

We do a lot of assessment, drills and
re-assessment work.

When you get homework, I make it easy for you to do. Essentially I’m coaching you for change!

30 seconds is all I ask for potentially a lifetime without pain. Simple drills may be all you need to stay pain-free for the long run!

and your doctor…

I understand the functional concepts of the brain functions and adaptations.

I identify which neural systems are currently underperforming.

Determine what type of drills & stimuli can alter that performance most easily and apply them.

Engage the nervous system with enough intensity & repetition to create a stable change and long-term improved function.

What happens in a session?

I will ask a lot of questions

During our evaluation session, I ask a lot of questions about your history of falls, injuries, surgeries, lifestyle and more. This is so I can get a better idea of what your brain and body have been through. Information gives us both insight as to why there is an overflow of threat. My job is to lessen your threat so the brain can function better.

You will learn why we hurt.

Education is very important part of this therapy. By learning more about why you hurt, you can have a better ability to resolve pain and increase ability. It’s important to understand why these exercises matter.

Why We Hurt” by Dr. Adrianne Louw is a highly recommended book for many of my clients.

You will do a lot of weird drills.

Following a pencil with your eyes, circling your ankle can be common drills we do in a session. These drills stimulate areas of the brain that inhibit pain, stabilize balance, inhibit the sympathetic nervous system, improve posture and muscle tone.

You begin to feel as if you are in a magic show.

What just happened?! How did my stiff shoulder just release with that eye drill when paired with an ankle circle?? Is this magic? Nope, just neurology! You’ll discover how weird drills and education of the brain become useful tools to help you move to move forever.
